Global Settings are configured within TSMS and are used as global parameters for all items that are monitored within TSMS. When a new TSMS Agent or component is added to TSMS, this agent will also look at all global settings and these are used immediately to start monitoring that new TSMS Agent or component.
Global settings can be changed via the Super User menu and have influence on all systems. In the Normal User menu change the monitoring parameters that only have impact on an existing Agent or Component.
In TSMS there are 6 available Global Settings:
- Event Log: TSMS can monitor all the Event Logs that have been created on your systems.It easily detects events such as account lockouts, failed attempts to access secure files, log on failures due to bad passwords, etc. You can also add custom rules to monitor events generated by any application.
- Labels: Configure search criteria you want to apply on a file.
- Performance: Ask questions to your application ports which are configured as Connect Labels and then also check the result which are configured as TCP/IP Labels.
- Trap: Routers, switches and applications can send SNMP Traps when there is something wrong. A TSMS Agent can collects those traps.
- Network OID: Devices can be requested by OID. Object ID's are uniquely identify managed objects in an MIB hierarchy. Vendors define private branches including managed objects for their own products.
- Network Load: Devices have an amount of data (traffic) being carried by the network. TSMS will monitor the network load and can
